Recently supporters of the cattle trail that brought millions of cattle to the Northern Plains dropped the “Great” from its title and approved the new name.  We, The Western Cattle Trail Association of Nebraska,  are still dedicated to marking the Western Trail from its beginning in Texas, north through the Plains to the Union Pacific Railroad at Ogallala, NE, and then to the Canadian Border and to preserving the stories from the trail.
